CHAPTER THREE: SELF CONCEPT

Self concept has to do with the conscious reflection of our identity. Several components of self concept include physical, academic, social, and transpersonal. Self concept is cognitive in nature. It includes learned beliefs, opinions, and attitudes concerning our existence. Research indicates that self concept is a basis for motivated behaviors and may also be related to self esteem. It is possible to change self concept. This is accomplished through self reflection.
